Never is too late…reflection on the meeting with Micha

I found this meeting quite unusual in terms of methods which Micha used. He had a diffrent approach to us depending on our image. As we had diffrent ideas about our future he was trying to guide us how achieve the goal. I expected kind of a lecture but it turned out that this meeting was an inspired conversation. Asking, demanding a quick answer he made us think and try to recognise the value of what we are doing/will do. It does not matter if it is organising a concert in a church for a local community or finding unpublished Scarlatti’s sonatas or music hidden in a spanish monastery. Our role as a musician is to create a niche for ourselves in this so called professional, musical life. Creating and bringing into the life our ideas. I realized that I see a lot of negative things as lack of the money to establish the festival or concert’s series. On the other hand I was struck by the comment which I received about gaining sponsors and keep in touch with them. Apparently my image is not feasible yet…Micha used all kind of methods from manipulating, changing his voice, convincing until provocating - to show us that our image can be feasible. We need to plan it better and start working having a good strategy as well. His idea to write letters to spanish gouvernment ro reveal the heritage which the monastery occupies seem to be extreme for me, although finding the contact person responsible for the music and make the appointment seem to be feasible. This improvised conversation led me to conclusion that never is too late to start doing things…Do you agree?
