On the first meeting on 6th of Oct we met, talked and improvised with Marijn Korff de Gidts
Marijn Korff de Gidts got his masters degree in percussion at the conservatory of Amsterdam and also studied in New York, West Africa and India.
He is searching for the common area between composition, improvisation, performance and theatre and is working with theatre directors, actors and visual artists on a regular basis.
At the moment he is investigating the principle of composing in groups; finishing an unfinished composition together during the rehearsal process.
Together with the musicians Liza Ferschtman (violin), Ties Mellema (sax) and Bram van Sambeek (fagot), Marijn initiated Cooperating Creative Musicians. This group of young top musicians wants to change the traditional concert format. Together with experts from different disciplines they are researching how they can break through the rigid format of a classical concert and create a deepener and more personal relation with their public. CCM is a project together with Walter Maas Huis and Apeldoorn Centre of Excellence (ACE).
Marijn also performs regularly with the Gaudeamus foundation, the Twitching eye Trio, Tom Push and the Soil ensemble.
